Kane County Burning Regulations
-
Burning of garbage is NOT permitted at any time
-
Burn on sunny days from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Do not burn when wind exceeds 10 mph
-
Do not burn within 20 feet of any building, structure, or property line

Any burning must be supervised until it is extinguished
-
Supervised means you are there and water is at hand
-
Burning for prairie restoration or firefighting training is permitted
-
Burning of brush in fireplaces and self-contained outdoor wood-burning devices is permitted
-
Burning of brush for recreational fires is permitted, but no larger than 3' x 3' x3'
-
Ceremonial fires for private or public event
Notice must be given to the local fire department, and a permit must be obtained from the health department
